GEL 3000® was developed by Rockwell International to test the space shuttle. GEL 3000 is a water-soluble, broad temperature range couplant containing a fluorescent tracer that enables the inspector to monitor transducer overlap and ensure complete coverage and removal by illuminating couplant or residue with ultraviolet light. GEL 3000 enables testing verification. GEL 3000 meets the Halogens and Sulfur requirements specified in NAVSHIPS MIL-STD-767.
